Gel Nails

​

This treatment is a gel varnish applied to natural nails and cured after each layer under a LED lamp and finished with cuticle oil.

It gives a little more added strength to weaker nails than a standard polish lasting up to 3 weeks.

We use The Gel Bottle, BIAB and Magpie products. Both of these products are a soak off system allowing me to do a full nail and cuticle tidy up again before re-application.​

Aftercare

​

- Apply cuticle oil twice a day.

- Don’t forget to apply under the free edge!

- Wear gloves when you are washing up or gardening.

- Wear a mitt or gloves when applying fake tan to prevent staining of pale colours.

- Avoid SPF products, tinted lotions and hair colour on your new nails as these can cause discolouration, always wash hands thoroughly after use or wear gloves

- Do not pick, peel or bite your nails, they are not indestructible.

- Use the pads of your fingers rather than your nails for opening car doors, making the bed, picking things up etc.

- Do not file your nails unless absolutely necessary, take care to file gently and finish in a downward stroke

- Avoid exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals such as cleaners or acetone based nail polish removers. These can start to break down the surface and may cause lifting and staining.

- Be EXTRA careful in the first 24 hours as the gel polish is still curing underneath!

- Book your next maintenance appointment for 2-3 weeks time to avoid disappointment
